I feel confident about my ability to determine the central ideas in an informative/explanatory topic because I have learned strategies such as identifying key details and main points, as well as understanding the purpose and main message of the text. Additionally, practicing summarizing and paraphrasing the main ideas helped solidify my understanding.

If I am not sure about how to analyze the interactions between individuals, events, or ideas in an informational text, I can reread the text and pay close attention to any relationships, connections, or patterns that emerge. Taking notes and jotting down any questions or observations can also help guide my analysis and understanding of the text.

It is sometimes challenging for me to make inferences and support them with textual evidence because I may not always be able to find explicit evidence in the text. In such cases, I need to rely on my prior knowledge and understanding to make logical inferences and use any indirect or implied clues in the text as supporting evidence. This requires me to read between the lines and think critically about the text.
