Obituary for Jane Elizabeth Thompson
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jane Elizabeth Thompson, 68, of Springfield, who left us peacefully on October 10, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 5, 1955, in Claremont, Jane was known for her spirited personality and unwavering kindness.
Jane dedicated her life to her family and community. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Michael and Sarah, and a cherished grandmother to four grandchildren who adored her. Jane was also a beloved nurse for over 30 years at Springfield General Hospital, where her compassion and care touched the lives of many patients.
In addition to her professional contributions, Jane was a passionate volunteer, supporting local charities and mentoring young women through various programs. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and hosting family gatherings.
A celebration of Jane’s life will be held on October 15, 2023, at 2 PM at the Springfield Community Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Springfield Children’s Fund.
Jane’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed.
