INT. HAWKINS NATIONAL LAB - NIGHT
The camera pans across the dark and eerie hallways of the Hawkins National Lab. The electric hum of machinery is the only sound breaking the silence. We see DR. OWENS, still recovering from his injuries, walking through the lab with a determined expression on his face. He is followed by two armed GUARDS.
Suddenly, the lights flicker, and sirens blare throughout the facility, causing Dr. Owens to stop in his tracks.
DR. OWENS
What the hell is going on?!
INT. CONTROL ROOM - HAWKINS NATIONAL LAB - NIGHT
Dr. Owens bursts into the control room, where a small group of scientists are frantically working on their consoles. The screens flicker with glitches, and one scientist slams his fist against the keyboard.
SCIENTIST
It's chaos, Dr. Owens! The entire system is malfunctioning!
Dr. Owens grips the edge of the console, his knuckles whitening.
DR. OWENS
(calling over the intercom)
This is Dr. Owens. Alert Level 3 lockdown! Initiate evacuation protocol now!
INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY - HAWKINS HIGH - DAY
The school bell rings, and students flood the hallways. We catch up with our beloved characters: ELEVEN, MIKE, LUCAS, DUSTIN, MAX, and WILL. Their backpacks slung over their shoulders, they exchange excited greetings.
MIKE
Guys, I've got a bad feeling about this. Dr. Owens, the Lab, everything just feels off.
ELEVEN
(intuitively)
I sense it too, Mike. Something's definitely wrong.
INT. LIVING ROOM - BYERS' HOUSE - DAY
Joyce Byers sits with JONATHAN and NANCY, reading through a local newspaper. Images of Hawkins Lab and the ominous lockdown alert fill the front page.
JOYCE
(concerned)
Oh no, not again. This town can't catch a break.
NANCY
What if it's another demogorgon?
JONATHAN
Or worse, a whole new threat.
INT. CONTROL ROOM - HAWKINS NATIONAL LAB - NIGHT
Dr. Owens watches the lab's security cameras, witnessing the chaos unfold. Suddenly, a figure appears on one of the screens, partially distorted.
DR. OWENS
(disbelief)
No... it can't be.
The distorted figure, the MIND FLAYER, gazes directly into the camera, sending shivers down Dr. Owens' spine.
INT. HAWKINS NATIONAL LAB - EXTERIOR - NIGHT
The Lab's alarms wail as the scientists and guards rush outside. Dr. Owens leads them, a grim determination etched on his face. However, as they step out, they find themselves facing a WRITHING, DARK CLOUD that looms over the entire Lab.
GUARD
(stammering)
What... What is that thing?!
Dr. Owens stands paralyzed for a moment, then takes charge.
DR. OWENS
(intense)
Everyone, run! Get as far as you can from here!
INT./EXT. HAWKINS HIGH SCHOOL - DAY
The kids, now aware of the escalating situation, gather outside the school, watching as a stream of panicked lab employees sprint towards them.
LUCAS
(pointing)
Look! It's Dr. Owens!
Dr. Owens, exhausted but determined, reaches the kids, gasping for air.
DR. OWENS
(urgent)
You kids need to find Hopper. Bring him back. Hawkins needs him more than ever.
ELEVEN
(bracing herself)
We will, Dr. Owens. We won't let our town fall.
DR. OWENS
(defiant)
I believe in you all. Now go!
The kids nod resolutely, and without wasting another moment, they take off towards their bikes, determination etched on their faces.
FADE OUT.
