Write a compare and contrast essay that analyzes two different lifestyles: one of complete freedom, and the other which de-emphasizes individually in favor of a collctive social unit, such as the family, society, the government, or all of these.
Ok so I am a little confused on ehat to write about a life which de-emphasizes individually in favor of a collective social unit. What kind of lifestyle is that?
I think the directions say "which de-emphasizes individuality ... " -- right? There's a difference between individually and individuality.

One lifestyle that de-emphasizes individuality could be communism; the individual's goals and wishes are subordinate to the "greater good" of the society as a whole. There are others, but this one comes to mind first.
Other teachers may have different reactions for you.

I don't quite understand what's suppose to be the ideal point.
So, I'm having the same problem. This essay makes no sense! I despise school activity... and learning...
