In the poem “Annabel Lee”, by Edgar Edgar Allen Poe, is all about two lovers who loved each other, until the girl annabelle died from a cold winter’s night. Even though she died, the narrator still loves her, and tells about how she dies and his feelings for when she died. Now, the narrator feels depressed and sad because of Annabell’s loss. In my opinion, I would describe the mood of this poem depressing, dark, and sad but also a bit cheerful. I think that these words dark and sad match the poem because when someone you love is passed away, it is really sad and tragic to think about. I also think this poem is also a bit positive because he recalls the best memories they’ve had together, making him cheer up even though it’s a sad time. However, I would also relate this poem to the life cycle, because eventually, you will have to let things go, which is sad, but true. By and by, every person dies in the end, because that is the human life cycle.
