A firecracker is a chemical reaction. Primarily it is rapid burning or oxidation. This is chemical and involves the valence electron shells outside the nucleus. Basically carbon, nitrogen and sulfur in the gunpowder combine by burning with oxygen in the air to form CO, CO2, nitrides and nitrates and sulfides and sulfates and water.
An H bomb is very different. The reaction is nuclear. Fundamentally two hydrogen nucleii (each with one proton) combine to form one helium nucleus. The actual element is changed from hydrogen to helium whereas with gunpowder the elements remained unchanged and only their links to other elements in molecules changed.
