Frankly, I like B and D better. Of the two, D is probably better than B, if one includes with reading and writing skills education. Missionaries taught Indians in the EAst, but later, for the Plains indians, the Govt took it over, it was the job of the Indian Agent, and they did a very bad job of it, turning indians against whites and white culture.

Why were eastern American Indians more adaptable to the “civilizing” influence of Christian missions while Plains Indians were less adaptable?
A. Eastern American Indian belief systems resembled Christianity much more than Plains Indian belief systems, which tended to be atheistic.
B. Eastern American Indians had been in consistent contact with whites much longer than Plains Indians, who only met whites sporadically in trading.
D. Eastern American Indians had developed reading and writing skills, and Plains Indians used only spoken language.
I left out C, because I know for a fact C is wrong. I am thinking A, because I had read there were some Atheistic American Indians... But what I read didn't say Eastern.. I'm afraid that might make a difference.
