Other remedies are considered to be available. For example, the dispute may fall under the jurisdiction of a labor union, a government labor department, or an arbitration process outlined in an employment contract. In such cases, a judge may refuse to hear the dispute in order to allow these alternative avenues to resolve the issue first.
