Why does the coasting rotating system slow down as water drips into the beaker??

4 answers

I will bet it has to do with mass gained, adn the effect on velocity given a constant momentum during coasting.
The coasting rotating system slows down to conserve angular momentum . When water drips into beaker it has more radius
We know that
I×R
So moment of inertia increases and angular velocity decreases
It is because you dont know the answer and are here on google .it'd be better to go and check in your book.you mindless student.
When water drops into the beaker, the mass of the contents in the beaker increases which increases the moment of inertia
