Why do people really like the Louisiana coast and what is the Louisiana coast?
The Louisiana coast is the southern part of Louisiana that borders the Gulf of Mexico. This map shows this coast.

People like living near water for swimming, boating, fishing, and the cool air. One of the world's favorite cities, New Orleans, is near the Louisiana coast.
The La coast is the "coast along the southern part of La that borders the Gulf of Mexico." But it extends many miles into the interior also. I live about 30 miles (airline miles) from the coast but we still consider ourselves living on the coast. The draw to many people is the weather. Those brutally cold days of the north and northeast just don't make it here. We MAY get at most 5-6 days of below freezing weather. The downside of that is that we also have high humidity in the summer. Air conditioning makes summers here livable. The other thing that draws people to the state is the food although I must admit that isn't a favorite of mine. But many people can't wait to get to Louisiana to eat SPICY (and I do mean spicy) food. Mudbugs(crayfish--or crawdads) are a big favorite here as well as shrimp and other fish and fish products. Jambalaya, ettouffe, etc etc. I'm not an expert in this field at all; however, I am a resident and the information I have given you is first hand. Contrary to many of the stories out there about aligators in our back yards that eat pets to none of us have indoor plumbing (meaning we use out houses), I can tell you that none of that stuff is true. I hope this helps.
