why did the framers choose to include a system of checks and balances in the U.S. Constitution?

In addition to this separation of powers, the framers built a system of checks and balances designed to guard against tyranny by ensuring that no branch would grab too much power. aka they were worried a branch would try and get to powerful. hopes this helps
