Why did members of the Third Estate form the national assembly?
1 answer
Members of the Third Estate formed the National Assembly because they were dissatisfied with being treated as inferior to the nobility and clergy in French society. They wanted equal representation and a say in government decisions. Additionally, the financial crisis in France at the time, along with King Louis XVI's insistence on maintaining the status quo, led to increased tensions and ultimately the formation of the National Assembly as a means to push for political and social reforms.
