The first explorers came from Asia at least 10,000 years ago. We assume they were following herds of animals and were seeking them for food. We call these explorers Indians or Native Americans.

The Spanish explorers came to find riches, especially gold. They also used Christianizing the natives as a reason (or excuse). Also, these explorers enjoyed the glory of exploring new lands.
