A) $10.00 per hour B) $11.00 per hour C) $12.00 per hour D) $13.00 per hour Claire has a part time job walking dogs Monday thought Friday. Business has really increased. She is walking 3 more dogs per day than she did last week. If she walked a total of 35 dogs this week, how many dogs did she walk per day last week? A) 2 B) 3 C) 4 D) 5
Sam would get $35.00 after working for 5 hours with $7 an hour. If he got $85.00, that would definitely mean he had money from before, so to calculate the amount he intially, you must subtract 85 by 35, which results as the number 50. So Sam started with $50.00 before he got a raise. If he worked the same duration before the raise, then he must of got $10.00/hour for 5 hours.
If Claire walks an additional 3 dogs per day more than the previous week, the calculation for the quantity of dogs she walked for last week is done with this process:
The current week she walked 35 dogs, where she only walks dogs for 5 days from Monday to Friday. So divide 35 by 5, which equals 7.
If she walked 3 more dogs for all days the current week, then last week she walked (7 - 3) dogs, which equals 4. So she walked 4 dogs last week.
