Pakistan has experienced military influence over politics and challenges to democratic institutions. Afghanistan has faced significant instability and conflict, particularly after the Taliban's return to power in 2021, severely impacting its democratic structures.
Overall, India is often viewed as the largest and, in many ways, the most stable democracy in South Asia as of the recent context.
