The organ in the digestive system that has a function most similar to that of the bladder in the excretory system is the large intestine.
The large intestine is responsible for storing and consolidating waste material (solid waste) before it is excreted, similar to how the bladder stores urine before it is expelled from the body. In contrast, the stomach is primarily involved in digestion, the small intestine is responsible for nutrient absorption, and the esophagus mainly functions as a conduit for food from the mouth to the stomach.
