A. Anti-Saloon League
The Anti-Saloon League (ASL) was one of the most influential organizations in the movement for Prohibition in the United States and played a significant role in persuading governmental leaders to ban alcohol. Its focused and organized efforts helped drive the movement toward the passage of the 18th Amendment, which enacted Prohibition in 1919. While the other groups also contributed to the temperance movement, the ASL is generally credited with having the greatest impact on legislation regarding alcohol prohibition.
