Why C?

I disagree, but maybe if I know your reasoning ... Have you looked any of these up? What does your textbook say?
I've looked all over my books and I cant find it. I choose c because as far as I know, they used to put milk in glass bottles, not cans.

"larger farms" -- larger than what?
We had many small family farms around here (New England) when I was a child. It seems to have been a combination of agricultural subsidies and the creation of gigantic machinery that enabled one person to plant and harvest hundreds of acres that led to the huge corporate farms of today.
Perhaps you can count the shortage of male farm workers during the US Civil War as a factor in causing the consolidation of farms into larger holdings. However it seems a stretch.
Although automatic bread slicing is recent history central bakeries have existed for centuries.
Thank you both :)
You're welcome!
