i was working on this with two friends, one tried E and the other tried B and they both got the answer wrong. I thought that colligative properties depended on whether a solute was volatile verses nonvolatile and not on if it is ionic or not.

I was thinking D, but I don't have a good reason to justify this answer, since colligative properties depend on the amount in grams of a solute, but not on the molar mass of the solute, and C is true because colligative properties are responsible for lowering the vapor pressure of the pure solvent

The answer is A. Let me legitimitize my answer; Since you can use the freezing point depression equation to find the molar mass of the solute, the molar mass obviously has an effect on the freezing point. I think its pretty clear that C is true. B is true by the definition of a colligative property (colligative properties are dependent on the number of molecules of solute in a solution, not on the identity of the solute) I go to UCI, just did this, and got it right.

No you were right. Colligative properties are not dependent on the molar mass of solute, only on the mass of solute. I'm 10000% percent sure. Trust me. Molar mass of solute...the answer is D.
