Which of the following is an ortho directing group?

a) CN
b) CO2Me
c) OMe
d) NO2

I have drawn most of them out, CN has no delocalised electrons to contribute e- density hence EWG.

For NO2 inductive effect is strong and hence is a EWG and meta directing.

OME EDG -> Ortho im thinking

However, i cant figure out the structure of CO2Me is it a carboxylic acid looking however the H is switch for Methly? Does this mean it cancels out the negative of a CO2- group which is ortho and so this is why it is meta?

I think you are right that OMe is a ortho/para directing group.
I think the CO2R is an ester and esters are meta directing.
