Which microscopic properties allow Kevlar and spider silk to

be so strong?

A. large strongly charged atoms and forces within tight coils of molecules

B. strong chains of molecules that form tight balls

C.large strongly charged atoms with strong intermolecular forces between layers

D. strong chains of molecules and strong intermolecular forces between
layers

1 answer

This is not my field but I would go with D since spider webs are composed of protein chains and hydrogen bonds (intermolecular forces) and kevlar is polyamide chains and hydrogen bonds.
