A subject complement comes AFTER a linking verb. It is also called either a predicate noun or predicate adjective.

I am tall. (TALL is the subj. comple.)

He is weird. (WEIRD is the subj. comple.)

They are my brothers. (BROTHERS is the subj comple.)
