A: hair cells
Hair cells are specialized cells in the inner ear that undergo terminal differentiation during development. Once differentiated, they do not divide and have a specific function. Stem cells, on the other hand, retain the ability to divide and differentiate into various cell types, while heart cells and epithelial cells can also undergo differentiation but do not necessarily represent an example of terminal differentiation in the same context as hair cells.
