Scientists could most effectively look to observe a black hole at the center of the Milky Way. The central region of our galaxy, known as Sagittarius A*, is home to a supermassive black hole. Observations in various wavelengths, including radio, infrared, and X-rays, can provide insights into the properties of this black hole and the surrounding environment, including stars and gas being affected by its gravitational influence.
The other options (the edge of the solar system, the solar system asteroid belt, and the center of the sun) are not known locations for black holes.
