why not just find the prob of getting a sum of 7 ?
there are 6 ways to get a 7 (list them if you have to)
prob of getting a sum of 7 = 6/36 = 1/6
btw. prob of 11 :
2 ways, either 5,6 or 6,5
prob of 11 = 2/36 = 1/18 , as they stated
and (3)(1/18) = 1/6
(they just made the question complicated on purpose)
