You seem to be asking whether increased advertising is an advantage to the general public.
My answer is a resounding NO! This plethora of advertising is one of the factors that got people over their heads in spending and maxed-out credit cards.

When the change from sponsored programming to network programming took place, the amount of advertising dramatically increased. Was this a positive or negative development for the general public at the time? Why or why not?
