To create a role category or divider for all your moderators in a Discord server and ensure that it displays correctly for each of them, you can follow these steps:
-
Create the Role:
- Go to your server settings by clicking on your server name at the top left corner, then select "Server Settings," and choose "Roles."
- Click the "+" button to create a new role. Name it something like "Cool Mods" or whatever you prefer, and customize the color and permissions.
-
Position the Role:
- Make sure this role is positioned above the roles of your moderators in the role hierarchy. You can drag the role up in the list to ensure it appears above their individual roles.
-
Assign the Role to Each Moderator:
- Go to the "Members" tab in the "Server Settings" or just go back to your server and click on the server name, then select "Members."
- Click on each moderator in the list and assign them the newly created "Cool Mods" role. This can be done by clicking the "+" icon next to their name and selecting the role.
-
Set Role Settings:
- Make sure that the "Display role members separately from online members" option is enabled in the role settings of your "Cool Mods" role if you want the role to show up as a separate category in the member list.
-
Save Changes:
- After assigning the role, ensure all changes are saved.
-
Check Permissions:
- If your mods are expected to manage certain tasks, check that the "Cool Mods" role has all the necessary permissions enabled (like managing messages, kicking, or banning users, if needed).
After these steps are completed, all of your mods should have the "Cool Mods" role visible above their names in the member list, and they should also be categorized under that role in the server. If you're still having issues, double-check that the permissions of the role and its hierarchy are correctly set.
