When choosing a college, there are many factors to consider. Think about the following questions to help you narrow your search:

What do you want to study? 
Where do you want your school to be located? 
What size school do you want to attend? 
What type of college do you want to attend? 
How much are you able to pay for college? 
In this lesson, you will choose 2–3 colleges that you are particularly interested in and do some research to learn more about them. Conduct a safe search on the Internet or visit your local library to conduct your research. You will fill out the worksheet below and submit it as a portfolio assignment at the end of the lesson.

1. College 1: University of Michigan
- What do you want to study? I am interested in studying business and economics.
- Where do you want your school to be located? I would like to attend a school in a diverse and vibrant city with lots of opportunities for internships and networking.
- What size school do you want to attend? I prefer a larger school with a bustling campus and a wide range of student organizations.
- What type of college do you want to attend? I am looking for a public university with a strong reputation for academic excellence.

- What size school do you want to attend? I prefer a medium-sized school that offers a close-knit community and personalized attention from faculty.
- What type of college do you want to attend? I am looking for a private university with a strong reputation in the arts and communication fields.
- How much are you able to pay for college? I am willing to consider taking out student loans and working part-time to help cover the cost of tuition.
