The 15% = $36, so the original price is much higher than $42.
15%x = $36
x = 36/.15 = $240
240 - 36 = 204
20% of 204 = $40.80
15%x = $36

Ok, i see im Late but im a connexus student an i have the unit 1 lesson 11 math test i took the test an using one of these answer an got a bad grade i had an A in math an took my grade to D using these answers im so sorry if u got them wrong but i will try my best to go an take the test!! an get all of you the correct answer because i have another test to do in Art an im still not getting the answers on here for that test either but im gonna get all of us the right answer!!
