What were the consequences of allowing the wooden horse to enter Troy?

1 answer

Allowing the wooden horse to enter Troy led to the downfall of the city. The Greek soldiers hidden inside the horse were able to sneak out under cover of darkness and open the gates of Troy to allow the rest of the Greek army to enter. The Greeks proceeded to sack the city, killing many Trojan soldiers and civilians and taking all of the valuable treasures. The fall of Troy ended the Trojan War and marked the end of the Trojan civilization.
