What similarities are between the grandmothers in The Courage That My Mother Had, and Lineage. I read the poem but I'm not so sure.

I'm not sure what there similarites were could it be that in both stories the grandmother's had a special quality (Strength and courage) and their granddaughter tries so hard to want to be like them and want the special quality they have. (Hint the poem The Courage That My Mother had is by Edna St. Vincent Millay.) Could another similarity be that the grandmother's tried hard to accomplish there special talent.

When I "see" my grandmothers, I see the same types of strong women, and I don't think I've ever been as strong, industrious, etc., as my grandmothers were. They lived in completely different times (late 1800s to 1980s). They raised their children during the Depression and saw sons go off to war.
