I don't know if sports create a sedated or anesthetized culture. It is a question for my english report. Is it possible my teacher is referring to steroid use in sports?

Ms. Sue
I suspect that your teacher means that so many people watch professional and college sports on TV that lose track of what is really important in life. Also -- as couch potatoes in front of the "idiot box" they are not participating in anything, but virtually anesthetized.
