1 answer

The central nervous system (CNS) is the part of the nervous system that is completely protected by bone. It includes the brain and the spinal cord, which are both encased in the skull and vertebral column, respectively. The peripheral nervous system (PNS) consists of all the nerves that branch out from the CNS and extend to the rest of the body. Sensory neurons and interneurons are components of both the CNS and the PNS.
