It looks like 9 is being subtracted from the previous term. The sum will definitely be negative. Does that help?

sum of 28 terms = 28/2[2*22+27*9]
= 14 [44=243]
= 14*287
= 4014
.. Sum of n terms = n/2[2a+(n-1)d]
Where n= number of terms
a= First term , d= Common difference
