3a+b+a+b

Combine like terms.
3a + a = 4a
b + b = 2b
ok MS. Sue the answer is 6ab??? please tell me I'm right
No.
6ab means 6 times a times b.

Your problem has no multiplication signs. It's strictly addition.
oh ya , sorry Ms. Sue this is an area I struggle in ok let me think
Yes, think! :-)
okay , okay, its #4 4a+b2 oh yes, I'm sure I'm right this time ??
No. There are no powers involved. A power would mean to multiply the number by itself. For instance 5 to the power of 2 (5^2) = 25.

Please think some more.
I FEEL DUMB, IT MUST BE #2 ?? I REALLY NEED SOME LESSONS ON THESE . I GUESS UGH
Yes. You've tried to make this too difficult. It's 4a + 2b.
THANK YOU Ms. Sue , I will try harder the next time on the first time, you will be proud of me :)
