What is the slope of the line that passes through the points (-2, 5) and (1, 4)?

2 answers

First find the slope
slope = (4-5)/(1+2) = -1/3

use the slope-point form:
y - 4 = (-1/3)(x - 1)
3y - 12 = -x + 1
x + 3y = 13
