What is the function of the Venna cava?
1 answer
The vena cava is a large vein that carries deoxygenated blood from the body back to the heart. There are two vena cavae in the human body - the superior vena cava which carries blood from the upper body and the inferior vena cava which carries blood from the lower body. The function of the vena cava is to transport the deoxygenated blood to the right atrium of the heart so that it can be pumped to the lungs to pick up oxygen.
