What is the difference between MsDOS and Ms WINDOWS?

DOS is a text-based interface. Commands are typed in. Unless you know the command name and the path to its location, you are SOL.
Windows is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) where you move the cursor to icons and click to perform actions.
