What is the color a mixture of sodium and potassium compounds (use the cobalt glass)??

A mixture of Na and K give a yellow color in the flame. The Na yellow flame completely blocks the violet from K. Using a Cobalt glass filters the yellow out and leaves a reddish color for K. Did you not see this when you did the experiment?
