What is the best estimate for 3 + (-14.9)(-2.3)?

a 36 b 31 c 48 d 33

I came up with 36 but my teacher counted it wrong. I reworked it but still come up with A-36. What am I doing wrong?

15 * 2 = 30

30 + 3 = ?
