Sunshine on the snow glittered so fiercely that, even though she wore sunglasses, Monica was forced to squint. The fresh snowfall of the night before was just enough to brighten the dull, dirty, diamond-hard snowbanks along the ribbon of highway that loomed as far as she could see.

I see metaphors and lots of descriptive wording, but I don't see any allusions.
