What is the absolute value of (-x - 6)?

3 answers

It depends upon whether x is greater than or less than -6.

If x < -6, the number in parentheses is positive and the absolute value is -x -6.

If x > -6, the number in parentheses is negative and the absolute value is x + 6
I am not given an x value, it is an equation, that has to be simplified and this is the result.
What you wrote is not an equation. I answered the question that was asked.
