What is inertia

Inertia is the tendency of an object to resist changes in its state of motion. It is the property of matter by which an object at rest tends to stay at rest, and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction, unless acted upon by an external force. Essentially, inertia describes the resistance of an object to any change in its velocity.

Linear motion

Linear motion refers to the motion of an object along a straight path, such as the motion of a car moving in a straight line or a ball rolling on a flat surface. In linear motion, the object's position, velocity, and acceleration can be described using one-dimensional measurements along the path.
