On Earth, for example, the weight of an object is equal to its mass multiplied by the acceleration due to gravity, which is approximately 9.8 meters per second squared. So, if you were to go to a different planet or moon, where the strength of gravity is different than Earth, your weight would be different due to the varying gravitational forces.
