An arithmetic sequence is the addition or subtraction of the same number. Example:
1 + 3 = 4
4 + 3 = 7
7 + 3 = 10
A geometric sequence is when the previous number is multiplied by the same number.
For instance, you have
2 parents
4 grandparents
8 great grandparents
16 great, great grandparents
32 great, great, great grandparents
