In the Boshongo-Bantu creation myth, Africa is said to have been created by the god Bumba. According to the myth, in the beginning, there was only darkness and a great emptiness. Bumba, feeling lonely and desiring companionship, decided to create the world. He vomited out the sun, the moon, and stars, and then earth and water. However, his first attempt at creating living creatures was a failure, as they were too white and couldn't survive in the bright sun.
Bumba then tried again and vomited out a leopard, a crocodile, a turtle, and a serpent, who then created the rivers and valleys. Bumba then created humans, but they were still without color, so he sent a chameleon to go around the earth and paint them different colors. The chameleon did as instructed, and thus different human races emerged.
Thus, according to this myth, Africa was created as part of the process of the world's creation by the god Bumba.
