What is a mixture? Provide an example.

1 answer

A mixture is a combination of two or more substances that are not chemically bonded together and can be separated physically. Each substance in a mixture retains its own properties and can be present in any amount.

An example of a mixture is a combination of salt and water. When salt is added to water, it dissolves in the water, creating a saltwater mixture. The salt and water can be separated by evaporation - the water evaporates leaving behind the salt.
