what is 9cm=______in
do I have to mutiply by 2.54 which equals 22.86,is i'm right or wrong?

1 inch is a longer unit of measurement than 1 cm
so 9 cm = 9/2.54 inches = 3.54 inches

look at your ruler (most have both units on them) and see how long 9 inches are.
Now how long would 22.86 inches be?

look at the 3.5 mark for inches, isn't that at about the 9 cm mark?

yes I see, thank you i really got confused at one point ,but i think i had 3.54 inches before but i didn't know if i was right about it either, thanks for your help:)
