yes
well... a 1 is always infront of the variable... so just add 1R+1R^2
You can't do that.
r + r2 = r + r2.
For example,
if r = 2, then r^2 = 4 and 2+4=6
if r = 3, then r^2 = 9 and 3+9=12
if r = 4, then r^2 = 16 and 4+16=20
so r+r^2 is not 2r something or other.
