What causes wind?

The movement of earth on its axis

The turning of circulating air currents

The constant density of air the temperature

The temperature differences in the hemisphere

1 answer

The main cause of wind is the uneven heating of the Earth's surface by the sun. As the sun heats different parts of the Earth at varying rates, the air above those areas also heats up and rises. This creates areas of lower pressure, and air from surrounding areas with higher pressure moves in to fill the space, creating wind. The rotation of the Earth also plays a role in the direction and strength of winds, as it causes the Coriolis effect which deflects moving air masses. Other factors such as the geography of the land and ocean, the presence of mountains and bodies of water, and the temperature differences between land and sea also contribute to the formation of wind patterns.
